Hike the Lassen Peak Trail over the Labor Day Weekend

The Lassen Peak Trail has been undergoing some major changes this summer, so access to the summit has been restricted to just a few days, although visitors are allowed to hike in 1.3 miles to the Grandview area on any day Lassen Volcanic National Park is open.

Hiking the Lassen Peak Trail, Labor Day Weekend 2011

The Lassen Peak Trail to the summit will be open on this Labor Day weekend from Friday, September 2 through Monday, September 5.

Hike it while you can! Stephanie and I had a great hike along the Manzanita Creek Trail well below the peak, but we wanted to be on top of it.

And there are many other Lassen Volcanic National Park hiking trails to choose from.
