There’s a new trail map for the Trinity Alps Wilderness and the nearby Russian Wilderness. I and other members of the Green Trails Maps team recently hiked many of the trails and did extensive research to make this the best map possible.
Coverage of the Trinity Alps Wilderness
The map covers all the key areas of the Trinity Alps:
- Canyon Creek Lakes
- Caribou Lakes basin
- Emerald and Sapphire Lakes
- Swift Creek Trail
- Four Lakes Loop
- Coffee Creek lakes and trails
- Pacific Crest Trail
It also covers the lesser known areas on all sides of the main heart of the Trinity Alps, allowing you to explore the more remote parts of the wilderness an enjoy more solitude.

Why You Need This Map
This is the most up-to-date and detailed topographical trail map for the Trinity Alps Wilderness. Green Trails Maps is the leader in researching and creating the most comprehensive and easy-to-use maps for trail users in the American West.
The map includes:
- Backcountry camping spots
- Trails suitable for horses
- Trails suitable for mountain bikes (outside wilderness boundaries, of course)
- Designation of trails that may be faint or difficult to follow
- Boundaries and extent of recent wildfires
Coverage of the Russian Wilderness
The granitic Russian Wilderness sits just north of the Trinity Alps Wilderness. Bisected by the Pacific Crest Trail, it contains many glacial lakes and scenery that rivals that of the Trinity Alps.
Physical Maps Are Still Crucial for Wilderness Safety and Enjoyment
You can’t rely solely on electronic devices to guide you in the backcountry. These devices are not 100 percent reliable. Also, cell signal is faint or non-existent. Most of the Trinity Alps has no cell service at all, and even ridges and peaks can have weak or no signal.
This Trinity Alps Wilderness map is waterproof and virtually indestructible. Using it along with a compass and basic map-reading skills will help you always know exactly where you are and how to get to where you want to go. It also gives you the “big picture” of the region.
