The Pacific Crest Trail Association and the Mount Shasta Trail Association (I’m on the board of directors) are co-sponsoring trail maintenance work on the Pacific Crest Trail section in Castle Crags State Park this Saturday, October 24th, 2009.
Here’s what Mount Shasta Trail Association president Joe Wirth says:
We need a trail crew of ten people to work on the Pacific Crest Trail in Castle Crags State Park on Saturday, October 24th where we will be working with representatives from the Pacific Crest Trail Association. The Pacific Crest Trail, one of our National Scenic Trails, is the most important trail in this area. There are about 180 miles of the trail within Siskiyou County. The work will consist of removing brush and improving tread where needed. Trail maintenance experience is not essential. We ll meet at the park entrance at 9:00 AM and finish about mid-afternoon.
