I Won a Blogging Award, Kinda

The travel website www.tripbase.com recently handed out awards for the best blogs in a variety of categories. The Northern California Hiking Trails blog was a finalist in the walking/backpacking category. Now, there’s definitely some very good blogs here, and I’m grateful to be in their company. However, there’s some very good blogs that didn’t even make the cut.

I’m, well, I’m not sure what I am, but I’m glad to be in a ten-way tie for eleventh place.

    Congratulations, you deserve to be on the list, but I’m a little dubious about their authority to do such a list. They might at least made the links clickable!

    Thanks for the congrats Ralph. They are a legit site, but I also wonder about their broad knowledge of hiking and backpacking blogs. I think they did it primarily for marketing purposes, including getting links from all the blogs they gave the awards to.

    They did go to substantial effort, though, and there are definitely excellent blogs on the list.

    Congrats! Two Heel Drive, Tripleblaze and Florida Hikes are on my regular reading list (as are you, of course!) – but Section Hiker is definitely missing from their list.
