Found this article about Bigfoot footprints and sightings in British Columbia. Seems local British Columbia Bigfoot hunter Larry Sommerfield made a cast of a footprint with four toes that’s 16 inches long and 10.5 inches wide. He says he’s also seen footprints with three and five toes. He says he also had a scat sample at one time, but apparently it’s gone now. (I wonder if it fell behind the files that are behind him in the photo.)
Bigfoot in British Columbia — and Northern California?
Now here at the Northern California Hiking Trails blog, we (meaning me) are very skeptical of Bigfoot. I don’t think Bigfoot exists. From my investigations (not completely thorough yet!) there is not sufficient, credible scientific evidence for Bigfoot. As a scientific guy, though, I’m open to new evidence – like, say, something we can do DNA testing on, or some remains. (For general background information, have a look at the Bigfoot entry on Wikipedia. )
Bigfoot will be a recurring topic here on the NCHT blog. I’ll be scouting out articles and information, and I hope you’ll use my contact email address to send me info.
Bigfoot: A Famous Northern California Hiker
Why discuss Bigfoot on the Northern California Hiking Trails blog? Well, if there is a Bigfoot, he’s gotta be a hell of a hiker. And human hikers are prime candidates to see Bigfoot. And Northern California gets a lot of Bigfoot sightings, especially in the northern part of Northern California.
Any Northern California Bigfoot Sightings?
So, seen Bigfoot lately? What’s your opinion on Bigfoot?

You mentioned good old Larry Sommerfield in Terrace. I have spoken to him in the past several times and dropped into see him when I was in Terrace, B.C. Colorful fellow, but a very nice man. He also told me on the phone one day that he and a friend found scat on a rock on one of the mountains in Terrace, B.C. Thinking it was from a Sasquatch. They tried to get it analyzed, but I think they had no luck on that. I had to entire story on my site, but not sure if I still do. It was interesting. I had photos, etc of all this.

Hello Brian,
Thanks for writing. I wonder how one would suspect a scat sample was from Bigfoot rather than from any other of the larger mammals.
British Columbia is a very beautiful place. In the summer of 1988 I was in Stewart near Terrace and then drove down through Prince George to Banff and Jasper and on into Idaho. Lotta bears up there!
