The California State Parks Foundation (CSPF) has released a video commemorating its tenth year of awarding its State Parks Legacy Award to deserving state park heroes. The Legacy Award recognizes the efforts of policymakers who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the protection and enhancement of California’s state parks. The video, produced by Primary Focus Productions, revisits the 10 years of the award with quotes and interviews with awardees about why state parks are so important to them.
State Parks Legacy Award
Each year, CSPF sponsors Park Advocacy Day where participants from across California converge at the state Capitol to lobby policymakers on critical issues facing the state park system, including park protection, funding and closures. At the culmination of the event each year, CSPF gives the Legacy Award to a deserving policymaker(s). To commemorate the tenth anniversary of Park Advocacy Day, CSPF created a retrospective video interviewing past winners.
