Native Australian David Sheppard summons the oft-quoted backpacker\u2019s mantra, \u201ctake only photographs, leave only footprints,\u201d as he reflects on the fragility\u2014and relatively newfound fame\u2014of the eight natural wonders recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. \u201cNatural World Heritage sites represent the best of what nature has to offer,\u201d says Sheppard, Head of the Protected Areas Program for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the organization which recommended the sites.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
