I first hiked the trail there when I was writing my first hiking guide, <em>Best Short Hikes in and around the North Sacramento Valley<\/em> (finally out of print after a great 16-year run).<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a stunning spot, and I returned several times when I lived in Chico from 1990-1996.<\/p>\n<h2>Bald Rock Trail<\/h2>\n<p>Now Bald Rock needs your help. Here&#8217;s a the press release from the Feather River Ranger District about the Bald Rock cleanup:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The Feather River Ranger District will host a clean-up day in the Bald Rock area on Saturday, June 26, in cooperation with the Berry Creek Community Association (BCCA). Volunteers are asked to meet at the Brush Creek Work Center, 12815 Oro-Quincy Highway in Berry Creek at 9:00 AM. Volunteers will assist in removing trash and appliances from the Bald Rock and Zink Road areas. Bring gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, a bag lunch, and plenty of water.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The BCCA was able to secure the donation of a 40-yard dumpster from Butte County Supervisor Bill Connelly and a pickup and trailer courtesy of County Roads Disposal.
