I get up there several times a year, swimming in the lake on hot days or <a href=\"https:\/\/northerncaliforniahikingtrails.com\/blog\/2021\/07\/29\/heart-lake-trail-reroute-new\/\">hiking the trail up to Heart Lake<\/a> or further away to <a title=\"Little Castle Lake and Mount Bradley Ridge hike\" href=\"http:\/\/northerncaliforniahikingtrails.com\/blog\/2008\/09\/28\/little-castle-lake-and-mount-bradley-ridge-hike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Little Castle Lake and Mount Bradley Ridge<\/a>. (There&#8217;s also a sweet half-mile trail along the west shore of Castle Lake.)<\/p>\n<p>This Saturday your help is needed to help maintain Castle Lake&#8217;s pristine status. It&#8217;s an old-fashioned lake cleanin&#8217; sponsored by the <a title=\"Upper Sacramento River Exchange\" href=\"http:\/\/www.riverexchange.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Upper Sacramento River Exchange<\/a>,\u00a0 the good folks at <a title=\"Shasta Mountain Guides\" href=\"http:\/\/www.shastaguides.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shasta Mountain Guides<\/a>, and the Castle Lake Limnology Lab.
