It has lots of trails, lots of creeks, and some crashing waterfalls, with Whiskeytown Falls by far the most spectacular.<\/p>\n<p>If you like guided hikes, than you are in luck: a ranger will be leading groups to Whiskeytown Falls on Friday, July 24 and Friday, July 31, 2009, and will be sharing lots of natural history info. Here&#8217;s the press release from the <a title=\"Whiskeytown Falls trail hike\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/whis\/parknews\/hike-to-whiskeytown-falls.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Whiskeytown National Recreation Area<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><!-- [if gte mso 9]><xml> Normal   0 <\/xml><![endif]--><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Get Outdoors and Hike to Whiskeytown Falls with a Park Ranger<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is offering guided hikes to Whiskeytown Waterfalls on Friday July 24 and Friday July 31, 2009. The hikes will start at 9:00 a.m. Space is limited and visitors are asked to make reservations by calling (530) 242-3438.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Join a Park Ranger for a hike to these beautiful waterfalls. Learn about the flora and fauna along the trail and learn about the Whiskeytown Fires of 2008 and how Whiskeytown manages fire in the recreation area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The \u00a01.7 mile hike is considered strenuous with several steep climbs, drop-offs \u00a0and narrow footing. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended.
