(I just sent some dough.)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Greetings,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here we go again!<\/strong> Even after we fought off last year&#8217;s proposal to close 48 state parks, the Governor is again taking aim at the state parks&#8217; budget and proposing to shut down our state parks.\u00a0 Only this year the budget cuts are 10 times worse and will cause over 200 state parks to be closed.<\/p>\n<p>This is why we <strong>need you to send an emergency contribution<\/strong> of at least\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\">$25<\/a>, or as much as you can afford to help our grassroots fight to stop the Governor&#8217;s plan.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor&#8217;s proposal will <strong>eliminate $70 million<\/strong> from the Department of Parks and Recreation&#8217;s General Fund for the 2009-10 Fiscal Year (starting July 1st), <strong>and will take the rest<\/strong> in the next budget year, FY 2010-11 \u2013 that&#8217;s a total of $143 million!<\/p>\n<p><strong>A hearing is scheduled for this Tuesday, June 2<\/strong>, where the Legislature&#8217;s Budget Conference Committee will consider this proposal.<br \/>\n<strong>Show your support for state parks TODAY with an emergency donation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">We will fight this proposal to make sure that <strong>all state parks stay open and funded<\/strong>. <strong>And we need you to help us in this monumental effort.<\/strong> Because sometimes membership dues are not enough.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you.<br \/>\nElizabeth Goldstein<br \/>\nPresident, CSPF<\/p>\n<p>P.S.
