Pacific Crest Trail Film by The National Geographic Channel Airs Today

by John Soares on July 4, 2010

I do a lot of hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail near Mount Shasta.

I also wrote a few weeks ago about the premier of a film about the Pacific Crest Trail from the National Geographic Channel. Now you have the chance to watch the same excellent documentary at home:

The Pacific Crest Trail zigzags some 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada . It cuts through seven national Parks and 24 national forests as it travels through California, Oregon and Washington. Its a trail of ever-changing obstacles – from some of the highest mountain passes in the west to the hottest desert in the country. The two to three hundred hikers who attempt the PCT each year often find out quickly if they have what it takes for the journey ahead.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. Great show – in fact, one of the best outdoor shows I think I’ve ever seen.

Jeff, I’m glad you enjoyed it.

The Mount Shasta Trail Association had a full house when we showed it in May, and it was a big hit.
