Squaw Valley Creek Trail/Cabin Creek Trail Hike on Saturday

by John Soares on June 21, 2010

From those good folks at the Mount Shasta Trail Association (I know ‘em well…) comes yet another guided hike, this time to Squaw Valley Creek near McCloud:

We will walk along the surging waters of the clear creek as well as on the Pacific Crest Trail. We will pass boisterous waterfalls and long rapids and see beautiful wild flowers alongside the moist slopes. This picturesque, wilderness hike in the McCloud area is 8 miles roundtrip with an 1800 foot elevation gain.

Meet 9 am on Saturday, June 26th at the Fish Hatchery in Mount Shasta (central exit and then west away from the actual Mount Shasta). Bring lunch and water. We expect to return by 4 pm. For further questions call Joan Roemer 926-0647.

Should be a great time. Note that the trail is now officially called “Cabin Creek.”
