Beach Walking at Bandon, Oregon

by John Soares on August 20, 2009

I’ll be spending the next few days in Bandon, Oregon at an internal martial arts workshop. All the classes take place on the beach and are taught by many talented instructors, including my tai chi teacher Gene Burnett of Ashland, Oregon and Joel Hartshorne and Andy Dale of the Xin Qi Shen dojo in Seattle, Washington.

Feel free to look at the class schedule. I’ll be attending nearly all of them, probably six hours a day total.

I’ll also do some walkin’ on the extensive beach at Bandon. The workshop is timed for the extreme low tides around the new moon, so I’ll be exploring the tide pools and grooving on the flat beach stretching way out to the waves.

This is a gorgeous place. I need to bring you here and get a room with an ocean/beach view.

That’s a great place – we have relatives in Coos Bay and I just love it up there.

Bandon has one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen on the west coast, and it’s the town is small, clean, and still has some decent restaurants.
