May Hikes with the Siskiyou Wanderers

I know several great hikers in the Siskiyou Wanderers, a group of Siskiyou County hikers who do a different trip every Thursday. Join ‘em and see some beautiful country with same great company. Here’s the May line-up:

May 7: Hayes Ranch:

A new hike selected and arranged by Sue Handley near her home off Ft. Jones Road.After the hike enjoy lunch hosted by Sue and Leon Handley at their residence at 2202 Ft. Jones Road. AD: 6+ miles THE: 2700′ AEG: Minimal PMP: Yreka Mall T: 9:00 am.

May 21: Castle Crags:

Let’s hike to the Castle Crag overlook just below the dome. This is a beautiful hike with fantastic views. State Park, no dogs! AD: 10 miles THE: 2,200′ AEG: 2,600′ PMP: Mt Shasta Fish Hatchery T: 9:00 am.

May 28: Pilot Rock:

This is one of our favorite hikes each spring. Usually the flowers and views are great. You have a choice of climbing the rock or walking the trail beyond the rock. Bring your camera. AD: 6 miles THE: 5,700′ AEG: 1,000′ PMP: Yreka Mall T: 9:00 am.
